Penn State shares pipeline public awareness information

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State shared its semiannual pipeline public awareness information on Thursday, Jan. 16. The full report can be viewed on the Office of Physical Plant website.

Penn State acquired its initial natural gas system in the 1970s from Columbia Gas Co. Today, Penn State maintains more than 10 miles of natural gas pipeline on campus that connects more than 120 buildings. Penn State operates a Master Metering system and maintains a relationship with Columbia Gas Co.

Penn State adheres to the Federal Pipeline Safety Regulations, including DOT 191 and 192, and works closely with the Public Utilities Commission to maintain compliance with specified standards.
