Penn State Great Valley announces winter community events

MALVERN, Pa. — Penn State Great Valley has announced its winter lineup of community events, which will kick off on Wednesday, Jan. 22. Aaron Bertelsen, author of "Growing Fruit and Vegetables in Pots" and vegetable gardener for the Great Dixter House and Gardens in the United Kingdom, will share tips on growing produce in a variety of containers.

The series continues on Feb. 19 with The Anxiety Project, which includes drawings, graphic medicine publications, and a live performance to explore what it’s like to live with anxiety and depression, presented by Penn State Laureate William J. Doan, professor of theatre in the College of Arts and Architecture and artist-in-residence in the College of Nursing.

March features Mike Huggins, founder of the Transformation Yoga Project and author of "Going OM: A CEO's Journey from a Prison Facility to Spiritual Tranquility," and Mountainfilm on Tour, which brings a selection of culturally rich, adventure-packed, and inspiring documentary films curated from the Mountainfilm festival.

The campus’ Henry Art Gallery will host a new exhibit,“Fresh Perspectives,” featuring the works of 10 innovative Chester County Art Association artists. The exhibit will open on Thursday, Jan. 15, with a reception beginning at 5:30 p.m.
