The fall edition of the College of Education Alumni Magazine will be delivered to alumni mailboxes soon, and there are some great stories to share in this issue.

There have been some big changes in the college since the last edition of the magazine was printed, with the most visible change being the appointment of a new dean. Meet Dean Kimberly A. Lawless, who began her new role in September; Director of Development and Alumni Relations Steve Wilson, who steps into his new role on Dec. 9; and several new faculty members who joined the College of Education this fall.

One thing that has not changed is the dedication of our students, faculty, staff and alumni, and you can read some of those stories in this edition of the magazine.

Read about how longtime friends of the college have honored Assistant Dean Maria Schmidt for her dedication to our students. Hear from alumni whose time in the College of Education has impacted their lives in many positive and lasting ways; and also how alumni have formed lasting connections to the college that transcend time and geography.

Learn about freshman Terrance Jefferson, who overcame tragedy and tremendous odds and now is ready to change the world.

This issue also features excerpts from Pennsylvania Secretary of Education Pedro Rivera's inspirational commencement speech last spring.

The magazine is in the mail, and also available online via issuu.com, with individual stories posted to the Penn State News and College of Education websites.
