The campus was one of three finalists in the Pride and Progress -- Interior Renovations category. Other finalists were Tobyhanna Army Depot and The Wright Center for Community Health.

The Dawson Building, named for the campus’ first director, has been undergoing a multi-phase, comprehensive renovation project. Phase I, a renovation of the ground floor, was completed in 2017.

This year, Phase II, which included the gutting and complete remodel of its first floor, and the addition of an Information Sciences and Technology (IST) Active Learning and Innovation Lab, as well as an art studio and new executive conference room, was completed this year, with the project finished in time for the start of the fall semester. The building’s second floor will be renovated in summer 2020.

The SAGE Awards are the Scranton Awards for Growth and Excellence awarded each year by the chamber to qualifying businesses in a variety of categories, including:  Fastest Growing Company; Hometown Star; Non-Profit Organization of the Year; Pride and Progress-- Interior Renovations; Pride and Progress -- Exterior Renovations; Pride and Progress -- New Construction; Best Practices in Community Involvement; Best Practices in Customer Service; Best Practices in Marketing and Communications; New and Emerging Business of the Year; Small Business of the Year; Business of the Year;  and People's Choice.
