UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The new two-factor authentication (2FA) prompt that went live on WebAccess in June is scheduled to receive further updates that will change the look of the prompt and provide additional options for device management on Dec. 3. The updates will increase security and improve user experience.

While the functionality of the new 2FA prompt will remain the same, new device management options will be included so users can add a new device or check their settings and devices directly in WebAccess. Users also will be able to enroll and manage devices through a new 2FA device management page that will be integrated into the Account Management portal as of Dec. 3.

Furthermore, when a 2FA device is added, removed or modified in some way, users will receive an email notification alerting them to the change to protect against fraudulent activity.

In addition, a new security checkup feature of the Duo Mobile app will now help users monitor and enhance the security of their cellphone or tablet by identifying potential security issues and notifying users if the software on their device is out of date when they use it to log in to WebAccess.

More details, including links to applicable Knowledge Base articles, will be made available when the updates are launched on Dec. 3.
