  • Katerina Bodovski, associate professor of education (educational theory and policy), and Ruxandra Apostolescu, a doctoral candidate in educational theory and policy, co-authored “The Pull and Push Forces in the Internationalization of Education in Russia,” in The Machinery of School Internationalization in Action: Beyond the Established Boundaries, edited by Laura Engel, Claire Maxwell, and Miri Yemini.
  • Jennifer Frank, assistant professor of education (special education), has two graduate students — Gwen Deger and Naima Bhana — who won the 2019 Council for Exceptional Children — Teacher Education Division Graduate Student Research Poster Award this year. The title of their poster was: ¡Escúchame!: Using simulations to prepare special educators to communicate positively with families with LEP.
  • Research on school segregation by Erica Frankenberg, professor of education (educational leadership), was cited in an article in The Washington Post and in a story for Teen Vogue. Research by Frankenberg and the Center for Education and Civil Rights also was cited in an opinion piece in the Austin American-Statesman.
  • Matthew Gardner Kelly, assistant professor of educational leadership, has an article, "Theoretically All Children Are Equal. Practically This Can Never Be So" in Teachers College Record.
  • David Passmore, distinguished professor of education (workforce education and development), was selected to serve on the International Scientific Committee for the 2019 International Scientific Conference on Mathematical Modelling and Methods of Structural Analysis held in Moscow in the Russian Federation. He also co-authored four papers at this international conference: "Checking the integrity of piles by seismoacoustic defectoscopy" with E. Degaev; "Probability theory in construction logistics" with E. Okunkova, I.V. Sharova, V. Burkov, I.V. Burkova and Z. Daulbaeva; "Using counterfactuals from macroeconomic models to assess risks to the accomplishment of structural innovations" with V. Borkovskaya; and "Modelling the reliability of the implementation of the schedule building work" with V. Borkovskaya and V. Evseev. Passmore also co-authored “Risks in the organization of logistics activities in the housing and communal complex” with V. Borkovskaya and Y. S. Korytova in the Monthly Journal on Construction and Architecture (in Russian).
