Forum on Black Affairs seeks nominations for 2020 Humanitarian Service Award

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Forum on Black Affairs (FOBA) is seeking nominations for its 2020 Humanitarian Service Award, to be presented at the 45th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Banquet at 6:00pm on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 on the University Park campus.

This award was created in 1985 to honor an individual who has provided outstanding service to African American citizens of Pennsylvania, particularly at any Penn State campus.

Examples of service include policy-making; research studies; leadership of units, offices, programs or organizations, research studies; and other significant activities that positively impact African Americans within the commonwealth. 

To nominate a candidate, please submit a letter of up to two pages describing the nominee’s credentials and qualifications for the award. Attach two supporting or relevant documents, such as newspaper or magazine articles or letters of support.

Nominations must be sent no later than Friday December 13, 2019 to Suzanne Adair, Associate Vice President for Affirmative Action at 328 Boucke Building, University Park, PA 16802.
