READING, Pa. — Pauline Milwood, assistant professor of hospitality management at Penn State Berks, will speak on the role of diversity competence in strategic innovation in hotel settings at the Pennsylvania Restaurant & Lodging Association's Annual Meeting & Awards Gala, set for Nov. 18-19 at the Omni Bedford Springs Resort.

Recent allegations of discrimination have brought negative attention to several national hotel brands. These cases have presented an opportunity for hotels to rethink diversity and inclusion strategy across all levels of their organizations. Milwood will speak with Pennsylvania Restaurant & Lodging Association members on how racial, cultural and generational diversity can be leveraged to improve innovation capability and performance of hospitality teams.

The Pennsylvania Restaurant & Lodging Association strives to promote, protect and improve the hospitality and tourism industries in the commonwealth of Pennsylvania and holds more than 80 events for members throughout the year.
