2020 Benefits Open Enrollment ends soon

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — 2020 Benefits Open Enrollment will end at 5 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 15. Until that time, eligible employees will have the opportunity to change or update their benefit elections for the 2020 calendar year.

Action Needed

It’s important for employees to complete Benefits Open Enrollment. Please note that any Flexible Spending Account (FSA) elections will cease as of Dec. 31, 2019, and you will not have the opportunity to enroll in either the Health Care of Dependent Care FSA.

To help employees understand their benefit options, Penn State Human Resources (HR) has provided the following resources.

Benefits Mentor

The Benefits Mentor is designed to help employees determine which health care plan may be the best for them and their families. Benefits Mentor uses your prior and current years’ claims to help calculate which health care plan option is the lowest cost for you, assuming you incur similar health care expenses and employee premium contributions during 2020. The following video tutorial explains how the Benefits Mentor tool works. This tool, as well as the Benefits Open Enrollment event, is available in Workday.

Presentations

For those who were not able to attend an in-person presentation, there are on-demand versions for your review.

Video Tutorials

To help employees complete the Benefits Open Enrollment process in Workday, the WorkLion Management Office has prepared step-by-step video tutorials. When accessing the videos, be sure to select “Standard Access Account.”

Online Resources

In order to centralize all the 2020 benefits information, HR has built a dedicated Open Enrollment section on the HR website, as well as within the WorkLion Knowledge Base. On both sites, employees can find information on all the benefit options for 2020.
