Men’s basketball

Penn State Altoona 98, Bethany College 95

Sophomore guard Robbie Hicks (Rockledge, Florida/Rockledge) put up a career-high 23 points on Saturday, Nov. 9, helping the Lions to a victory in their season opener at Bethany.

Men’s swimming

Penn State Altoona 96, Juniata College 50

Freshman Isaac Swanson (Clearfield, Pennsylvania/Clearfield) was named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference’s Men’s Swimmer of the Week after having a hand in three first place finishes against Juniata on Friday, Nov. 8. Swanson won the 200 SC Meter IM and the 400 SC Meter Freestyle, and he was also part of the team that placed first in the 200 SC Meter Freestyle Relay.

Women’s soccer

D’Youville College 2, Penn State Altoona 1 (AMCC Tournament, First Round)

Freshman defender Arianna Mancini (Abington, Pennsylvania/Abington) scored the Lady Lions’ lone goal in their tight 2-1 loss at D’Youville on Saturday, Nov. 2 in the first round of the AMCC playoffs.

California University of Pennsylvania 134, Penn State Altoona 31

Freshman Grace Dangelo (State College, Pennsylvania/State College) was awarded AMCC Women’s Swimmer of the Week status for the third time already this season, after she had first place finishes in the 200 SC Meter Freestyle and the 100 SC Meter Backstroke in a tri-meet with nonconference opponent Juniata and Division II foe Cal U on Friday, Nov. 8.

Freshman outside hitter Lydia Mock (Alum Bank, Pennsylvania/Chestnut Ridge) was named to the AMCC All-Tournament team after totaling 17.5 points, 23 digs, and 16 kills in a pair of conference tournament matches.
