Tennis Center rolls out the Kourts app for court reservation

Credit: Penn StateCreative Commons

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Until recently, anybody who wanted to reserve a court at the Tennis Center had to call the facility directly and ask for the court availability. The Tennis Center recently integrated the use of a free application called Kourts that is designed specifically to allow students and Tennis Center members to reserve courts. The app allows users to see when indoor and outdoor courts are available for reservation throughout the day. Kourts is not designed for the registration of camps, clinics, or instructional sessions and can only be utilized by current Penn State students and Tennis Center members. To learn more and register for camps, clinics and instructional sessions, visit pennstatecampusrec.org

Before downloading the app, individuals will need to submit their name, email and cellphone number to Bill Potoczny, assistant director for tennis, Campus Recreation, at wmp10@psu.edu.

The Penn State Tennis Center, operated by Campus Recreation, a unit of Penn State Student Affairs, is open to all University Park students and Tennis Center members. Offering tennis and pickleball clinics, camps, instructional sessions, and general open play, the Tennis Center is a perfect resource for anyone looking to learn about tennis, refine their skills, or casually play. There are four hard indoor courts and six clay outdoor courts available; the outdoor courts vary on availability due to weather and seasonality.

Anyone interested in learning more about Penn State Campus Recreation’s Tennis programs, Kourts, or any of the offerings of the Tennis Center, can visit the Campus Recreation Tennis page or call 814-865-1351 for more information.
