Penn State Hazleton to hold seminars for entrepreneurs

HAZLETON, Pa. -- Penn State Hazleton is offering free seminars for those interested in starting their own business on a part- or full-time basis.

The “Steps to Starting and Growing Your Own Business” seminars are offered as a series and attendees are welcome to attend as many sessions as they would like.

Sessions include:

  • “Feasibility, Structure, Licensing and Registration,” 5 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12. The session will be held at the Hazleton LaunchBox in downtown Hazleton (use 15 W. Broad St. for GPS). Registration is required by calling the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce at 570-455-1509 or emailing dxk40@psu.edu.
  • “Cybersecurity for Small Businesses,” 8:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, in the Slusser/Bayzick Building at Penn State Hazleton. This program was designed to help small businesses learn about the dangers and impact of potential cyberattacks.   • “Preparing a Business Plan and Financial Projections,” 5 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, at the Hazleton LaunchBox. Registration is required by calling the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce at 570-455-1509 or emailing dxk40@psu.edu.
  • Speaker series for Global Entrepreneurship Week, Nov. 10-14. A variety of sessions will be streamed from University Park. Visit hazleton.psu.edu or gew.psu.edu for more information.
