UNIVERSITY PARK, PA. — The public is invited to join staff and volunteers of the Palmer Museum of Art at Penn State from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, for a spooky, special Art After Hours event. The Palmer’s Halloween Spectacular will include multiple activities and programs related to the ghoulish holiday.
The schedule includes: art heist escape room games at 6 and 7 p.m., zombie adventure tours through the galleries at 6:30 and 7:30 p.m., and a costume contest with judging at 8 p.m. (art-related costumes get extra points). There will also be face mask decorating, a photo booth, and refreshments throughout the night.
The museum’s fall exhibitions will also be open for viewing and feature artists from 19th-century France through the Harlem Renaissance, Bauhaus movement, and more.
The evening was organized by the Palmer Student Ambassadors, an undergraduate student volunteer corps that plans and implements student-centered programs at the museum, led by Keri Mongelluzzo, graduate assistant and doctoral candidate in art history.
Art After Hours events are open to the public for participants of all ages.

The Palmer Museum of Art on the Penn State University Park campus is a free-admission arts resource for the University and surrounding communities in central Pennsylvania. With a collection of 9,600 objects representing a variety of cultures and spanning centuries of art, the Palmer is the largest art museum between Pittsburgh and Philadelphia. Museum hours are 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday. The museum is closed Mondays and some holidays.
The Palmer receives state arts funding support through a grant from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, a state agency funded by the commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and from the Central Pennsylvania Convention and Visitors Bureau.

About the new university art museum at Penn State
Penn State and the Palmer Museum of Art are planning to construct a brand new university art museum located in The Arboretum at Penn State.
