Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and podcaster set for Nov. 13 lecture

A Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist will bring his expertise about podcasting during a free public lecture Nov. 13 on the University Park campus.

Christopher Goffard, an author and reporter at the Los Angeles Times, will deliver his lecture at 7 p.m. in Foster Auditorium of the Paterno Library. “Ten Things I Learned from My First Podcast” will focus on podcasting in general and Goffard’s popular podcast “Dirty John.”

Now a hit TV series, “Dirty John” tells the story of a con man who used internet dating sites to prey on wealthy women. Goffard’s success in podcasting the story brought it to the screen with the Bravo TV network in 2018.

Goffard was part of the 2011 Pulitzer Prize-winning team that reported on public funds corruption in Bell, California. He's also a two-time Pulitzer finalist for feature writing. Along with his success in journalism, Goffard has  published two published novels: “Snitch Jacket” and “You Will See Fire: A Search for Justice in Kenya.
