2020 breastfeeding classes now open for registration

Registration is now open for the 2020 breastfeeding classes offered by Penn State Human Resources (HR). The Basics of Breastfeeding and Working and Breastfeeding classes are listed below and are taught by an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). All information provided is supported by the latest research, while the IBCLC also draws on her own experience from working with mothers and babies for over the past 20 years. 

PSU-140: Basics of Breastfeeding

Information presented in this class covers information needed to prepare for breastfeeding during the early weeks. Topics may include common newborn behavior, establishing milk supply, positioning and latch, and how to tell if your baby is getting enough milk. This class is ideally taken prenatally, either at the end of the second trimester or the beginning of the third.

PSU-141: Working and Breastfeeding

This class covers information related to combining work/student life and breastfeeding. Topics may include planning for your return to work or class, milk pumping and storage, and bottle feeding a breastfed baby. This class can be taken either prenatally or within the early weeks after delivery.
