Panel with recent journalism graduates to focus on career development

Several recent journalism graduates will return to campus to share their first job experiences during a free public panel discussion Nov. 4.

The student-focused event — “Real World. Real Jobs.” — will take place at 6 p.m. in Hintz Family Alumni Center. Seven graduates from the Donald P. Bellisario College of Communications will discus their roles as journalists and content producers in diverse networks and media outlets around the country. 

Participants include:
-- Maddie Brightman, 2017, associate producer at ESPN;
-- Gabrielle Chappel, 2016, freelance producer, host and actress;
-- Antonia Jaramillo, 2018, space trends reporter at Florida Today Communications;
-- Adriana Lacy, 2018, audience engagement editor at The Los Angeles Times;
-- Kiarra Powell, 2017, production assistant at NPR;
-- Lesly Salazar, 2016, digital producer at WJLA-TV; and
-- Carter Walker, 2017, county government reporter at LNP Media Group.

The panel discussion will be followed by a question-and-answer session. 

The session is part of the COMM Career Conversations series, coordinated by the Office of Internships and Career Services in the Bellisario College. It is presented in conjunction with Office of Alumni Relations and the Department of Journalism with support from the Eberly Professorship.
