The Penn State DuBois softball team held their first Youth Softball Camp on Saturday, Oct. 19. Members of the softball team and coaching staff instructed 45 youth campers on pitching, fielding, hitting and base running on a beautiful afternoon at Rose & Dennis Heindl Memorial Field. Each camper received a T-shirt, an autographed poster and an invite to attend an upcoming home game this spring.

“You couldn’t ask for a better weather day for a mid-October day and what an amazing turnout. Hats off to all the campers and their parents for taking a weekend day out of their busy lives to spend it with us,” Head Softball Coach Jason Kern said. “I can’t say enough about the young ladies on this team. I sat back momentarily during the camp and just watched them teach the youth campers and I was in awe of their teaching. It makes our coaching staff feel like we are getting this thing right here at Penn State DuBois.”
