Campus Recreation opens intramural sports for a second fall session

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Campus Recreation, a unit of Penn State Student Affairs, has opened registration for the Fall 2 Intramural Sports leagues. The current registration period runs through Oct. 17 and is open to all Penn State students and those with a current Campus Recreation Membership.

Activities available for the Fall 2 season include basketball (3v3), flag football, indoor soccer, squash (singles and doubles), ultimate frisbee, and the newest edition to Penn State Intramural Sports, bouldering -- a form of rock climbing.

Competitive bouldering is a rapidly growing sport and has drawn interest at Penn State. With the increasing popularity of the climbing and bouldering walls in the Intramural Building, this activity should be a big hit.

To register for an intramural sport, follow these instructions:

  • Visit IMLeagues.com/psu and click "Login" in the top right corner;
  • click "Penn State Access Account" and enter your Penn State login information;
  • click the "IMLeagues" button and then click "Intramural Sports" when re-directed;
  • choose the sport you would like to participate in, select a league, and create or join a team; and
  • finally, take a short quiz and then you can invite friends to join your team.

Intramural sports run throughout the year at Penn State University Park. The Spring 1 session includes basketball, floor hockey, mini-soccer (3v3), and racquetball (singles and doubles). The Spring 2 session includes arena football (4v4), flag football (4v4), kickball, soccer (6v6), table tennis (singles and doubles), and volleyball. Intramural sports are a tremendous way to build community, make friends, have fun, and try something new.
