MONT ALTO, Pa. — Abel Castro, Douglas C. Harmon, James Junkin, and Timothy L. Mussmon are new members of the Penn State Mont Alto Advisory Board for the 2019-20 academic year. Comprised of alumni, friends and corporate leaders, the Penn State Mont Alto Advisory Board is a key link between the campus and its surrounding communities. Board members not only serve as ambassadors for the campus and the University but also as a conduit for community feedback regarding campus programs and activities.
Castro is a State Farm insurance agent in Chambersburg, where he was recently named among the top 100 agents in the nation as a new agent. Previously, he served as a sales representative for Forrester Lincoln Mercury, also in Chambersburg. Castro studied computer electronics and engineering at the ITT Technical Institute in Mechanicsburg.
Harmon is the Certified Tourism Ambassador program director for the Franklin County Visitors Bureau, where he has served since September 2017. Previously, was the membership director for the Greater Chambersburg Chamber of Commerce. He also owns and operates Harmon’s Entertainment MC as well as the Tour and Media Company, providing businesses and individuals with social media management and tour guides. Harmon earned his MBA from Mount St. Mary’s University and holds a bachelor of science in marketing from Penn State.
Junkin is the owner of Junk-Inn Farms LLC in Willow Hill, where he does livestock production, including turkeys, sheep and pigs, as well as crop management. He also is the owner of Gipe’s Service in Fannettsburg, which provides automotive maintenance and repair service as well as certified inspections. Previously, he was the co-owner of Junbro Farm LLC and served as director of maintenance at Keen Companies in Carlisle. He also worked as the fleet maintenance director at Cressler Trucking Inc. in Shippensburg. Junkin studied advanced management development at Penn State Mont Alto and accounting at Wilson College.
Mussmon is the vice president/regional lending manager at AgChoice Farm Credit in Chambersburg, where he previously served as executive loan officer. Before working at AgChoice, he was the dairy nutrition specialist at Agway Inc. in Shippensburg. Mussmon earned his bachelor’s degree in agricultural business management from Penn State.
