Penn State Clinical and Translational Science Institute is accepting letters of intent to apply for its Bridges to Translation VI pilot grant program. Pilot grants are available for up to $50,000. The institute expects to fund three-to-five projects.
Penn State Clinical and Translational Science Institute's mission is to improve human health through the development and implementation of new ways to promote health and treat disease. Funded projects will help build collaborations and work to overcome roadblocks to taking research in the laboratories to patients in health-care clinics. The institute will give special consideration for projects that relate to rural and other vulnerable populations who experience health disparities, especially those that explore:
- social, environmental and phenomic determinants
- study of, or interventions focused on those diseases identified by Case and Deaton new methodologies including telemedicine, community-engaged research, big data modeling in the research of the determinants of health
- population health and patient-centered outcome research.
The institute provides tools, services and resources to make research more efficient at Penn State, promotes collaboration and educates the existing workforce and the next generation of scientists in translational science.
