UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State and State College police are seeking the community’s assistance in attempting to verify third-party reports of unknown men harassing women, both at the University Park campus and off campus in State College, including reports of males grabbing females by the arm while trying to speak with them.

Incidents have reportedly occurred on and off campus over roughly the last two weeks. Police are following up on multiple leads and the investigation is ongoing.

Anyone who has witnessed or may be a victim of such activity on campus should contact Penn State police at 814-863-1111. To report such activity downtown, call State College police at 814-234-7150. Additionally, authorities remind community members to:

  • Report suspicious or criminal activity by calling 911.
  • Avoid walking alone from dusk to dawn by calling 814-865-9255 so that a University Police and Public Safety employee can escort you to your on-campus destination.
  • Never get into the car of someone you don’t know. If you use a ride-share service, always verify the driver’s identity and vehicle description via the ride-share app before entering the vehicle.
