SMaRT Connects will be held from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 17, in Lecture Room D at Penn State College of Medicine. This session will highlight the utility of REDCap in human subjects research studies. SMaRT Connects is the newest resource of the Staffing, Mentorship and Research Training (SMaRT) Program. These sessions support human subjects research professionals through timely College of Medicine research process information, professional development and networking. REDCap is the research data collection and storage tool sponsored by Penn State Clinical and Translational Science Institute. This HIPAA-compliant tool has many uses that can help studies be more efficient. In this session, a member of the REDCap team and a panel of research support professionals will highlight the use of REDCap in their research. Users with all levels of REDCap experience are welcome.
The SMaRT Program facilitates the navigation of College of Medicine resources for researchers and research support staff. The program team is available to work with investigators and staff at each stage of the research process, creating alignment with the necessary skills and resources when they are most needed.
Penn State Clinical and Translational Science Institute provides the tools, resources and training to help the Penn State community move its health research more efficiently and effectively out of science laboratories and into use by the people and communities who need it. Through its cores, the institute provides consultations, research tools, advanced biostatistical expertise, funding programs for exploration of unique ideas and a dedicated team for partnering with the community more effectively in research.
