Behrend golfers place fourth at two-day Allegheny tournament

ERIE, Pa. — The Penn State Behrend men’s golf team placed fourth at the Guy and Jeanne Kuhn Invitational, hosted by Allegheny College. Mark Peters, a senior from Mercer, led the team with a two-day score of 153.

The college’s soccer, volleyball, tennis and water polo teams also were in action last week. Here are the highlights:

Men’s soccer

Penn State Behrend 2, Potsdam 1

Penn State Behrend 4, Mount St. Vincent 0

Aaron Harris, a senior from Washington, and Richard Blanchard, a junior from Erie, both scored against Potsdam. Blanchard also scored against Mount St. Vincent.

Women’s soccer

Case Western Reserve 3, Penn State Behrend 0

Grove City 1, Penn State Behrend 0

Goalkeeper Morgan Harding, a freshman from Pittsburgh, made eight saves against Case Western Reserve and had four against Grove City.

Men’s golf

Fourth (of 12) teams at the Guy and Jeanne Kuhn Invitational

Garrett Schlick, a senior from Harmony, shot a team-low 74 on the second day of the Guy and Jeanne Kuhn Invitational, hosted by Allegheny College.

Women’s volleyball

Mount Union 3, Penn State Behrend 0

Bethany 3, Penn State Behrend 1

Westminster 3, Penn State Behrend 0

Defiance 3, Penn State Behrend 0

Madison Clapper, a junior from Hollidaysburg, had 25 digs against both Westminster and Bethany. Dani Kosslow, a sophomore from Pittsburgh, had 14 assists and a team-best five aces against Defiance.

Men’s tennis

Penn State Behrend 6, Pitt-Greensburg 3

Mitchell May, a sophomore from Erie, and Noah Colvin, a senior from Warren, won at No. 2 doubles. May also won at No. 5 singles. Colvin won at No. 4 singles, taking the match in a tiebreaker.

Women’s tennis

Penn State Behrend 8, Pitt-Greensburg 1

La Roche 6, Penn State Behrend 3

Fredonia 8, Penn State Behrend 1

The Lions won all six singles matches and two of the three doubles matches against Pitt-Greensburg. Emma Martin, a freshman from Mars, and Rachel Weber, a freshman from Hampton, won a tiebreaker set at No. 3 doubles for the lone win against Fredonia.

Men’s water polo

Penn State Behrend 13, Washington & Jefferson 9

Gannon 17, Penn State Behrend 9

Isaak Hatopp, a senior from Saline, Michigan, scored four goals on seven shots against Washington & Jefferson. Jacob Harkins, a freshman from Hollywood, Florida, scored twice against Gannon.
