'AI in Healthcare' symposium set for Oct. 4 in Hershey

Symposium will focus on clinical applications, challenges and opportunities of artificial intelligence in healthcare

HERSHEY, Pa. — An "AI in Healthcare" symposium will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 4 at Hershey Lodge and Convention Center. This symposium will focus on clinical applications, challenges and opportunities of artificial intelligence in healthcare at Penn State College of Medicine and Penn State Health. It will promote collaboration between campuses in the areas of machine learning, artificial intelligence and the study of biological structure. 

Keynotes speakers are Dr. Glenn Gerhard, chair, Department of Medical Genetics and Molecular Biochemistry, Temple University; Dr. John Tomaszewski, SUNY distinguished professor and the Peter A. Nickerson, Ph.D., Professor and chair of the Department of Pathology and Anatomical Sciences, University at Buffalo; and Dr. Kun-Hsing Yu, Harvard Medical School.

The workshop will also feature breakout sessions. Lunch is provided.
