College of Health and Human Development names student marshal

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Adi Kadosh, daughter of Judith S. Kadosh and Yitzhak Kadosh of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, will serve as the college marshal for the Penn State College of Health and Human Development at the Aug. 10 commencement ceremony.

Kadosh will graduate with a bachelor of science degree in communication sciences and disorders. She will be escorted by Carol Miller, professor of communication sciences and disorders and professor-in-charge of the graduate program.

Kadosh is the recipient of numerous recognitions at Penn State, including the President’s Freshman Award, the President Sparks Award, the Evan Pugh Senior Scholar Award, the Alumni Recognition of Student Excellence Award, the Alumni Association Scholarship, the Panhellenic Pride Scholarship, Ready to Succeed Scholarships, and Pittsburgh Promise Scholarships.

She was a Schreyer Honors Scholar and completed the thesis “Effects of Dynamic Text and Speech Output in a Graphic Based Augmentative and Alternative Communication App on Supporting the Transition to Literacy for Individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder.” 

Kadosh was a member of the Health and Human Development Honor Society, the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, and consistently named to the Dean’s List.

She worked with the Augmentative and Alternative Communication and Literacy Lab and volunteered with Remote Area Medical, an organization that provides free medical clinics to underserved populations. Kadosh was an engaged member of a number of organizations, including Phi Chi Theta Business Fraternity and Kappa Delta Sorority, for which she served as THON overall chair in 2018, fundraising chair in 2017, and a THON dancer in 2019. Additionally, she participated in the Penn State Aish Leadership Fellowship, Poland Experience, and the Penn State Hillel Jewish Leaders Fellowship, serving as a campus engagement intern. She was also a member of the Campus Recreation Advisory Committee and held a work study job at the HUB-Robeson Center Galleries.

Kadosh is a 2015 graduate of Taylor Allderdice High School in Pittsburgh.

Following graduation, Kadosh plans to serve one year with the AmeriCorps National Health Corps in Pittsburgh, then attend medical school in fall 2021.
