Penn State IT recommends Mac users update Zoom to avoid security vulnerability

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — A security flaw in the Zoom app for Mac may be used to launch users into a call without their permission. Although Zoom has recently installed a fix for the security vulnerability, Penn State Information Technology recommends that Mac users who have not updated to the latest version of Zoom should do so immediately.

Mac users can update their Zoom version by opening their Zoom app and following the “update” prompt. Mac users can also visit https://zoom.us/download and click on the “Download” button in the “Zoom Client for Meetings” section.

Zoom encourages all users to keep their client up to date, as this is the best way to ensure they are enjoying the latest and most secure user experience possible. For more information, visit the Zoom blog.
