College of Earth and Mineral Sciences announces promotions in academic rank

Nine Penn State College of Earth and Mineral Sciences tenured and tenure-line faculty members have been selected for promotions, effective July 1, 2019.

Six faculty members have been promoted to the rank of associate professor. To be promoted to associate professor, the faculty member must have demonstrated, through scholarly achievements and evaluations by both students and peers, the potential to become an outstanding scholar of national repute and an accomplished, inspiring teacher.

The following individuals have been promoted to associate professor:

Three faculty members have been promoted to the rank of professor. To be promoted to professor, in addition to the qualifications of associate professor, the faculty member must be an established, internationally recognized scholar and superior teacher.
