Dean of sciences, humanities and visual communications named at Penn College

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Pennsylvania College of Technology has appointed Sue A. Kelley as dean of the School of Sciences, Humanities & Visual Communications.

Kelley, who has more than 20 years’ experience in higher education, comes to Penn College from Lycoming College, where she has been employed since 1999, serving most recently as an associate professor of psychology and department chair.

She also has administrative experience related to curriculum leadership, recruitment and retention, planning and budget, and personnel, and she has performed various roles in institutional governance.

Kelley holds a doctorate and master of science in developmental psychology from the University of Pittsburgh and a bachelor of arts, summa cum laude, from Penn State's Schreyer Honors College, where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.

As dean of sciences, humanities and visual communications, she succeeds Michael J. Reed, who now serves as Penn College’s vice president for academic affairs and provost.

“Sue has a wealth of experience in higher education, as well as the skills and abilities needed to thrive in this leadership role,” Reed said. “She understands and supports Penn College’s unique mission and values, and I look forward to her contributions to students, faculty and educational administration at the college.”

The School of Sciences, Humanities & Visual Communications offers academic majors in brewing and fermentation science, early childhood education, emergency management, graphic design and art, human services and restorative justice, and individualized programs of study.
