UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Fireworks will once again light up the night sky on July 4th as part of the Central PA 4th Fest on the University Park campus of Penn State.

4th Fest, as it is affectionately known, will include many forms of entertainment beyond the pyrotechnic display set to music. The day’s events also include the Firecracker 4K and four-mile races, a parade, and other activities and shows.

Visitors can literally have their cake and eat it too during the free cake and hotdog giveaways on campus during the annual event. If hotdogs and cake aren’t enough to stop the food cravings, there will be a variety of food venders of every sort to help keep the hunger pains at bay, beginning at 2 p.m. next to Beaver Stadium.

The Travel Channel has called the fireworks display on Penn State’s campus “one of the best fireworks displays in the world.”

There is no charge for admission to the 4th Fest and parking is $10 for general, $25 for VIP and $50 for VIP recreational vehicle. VIP viewing passes, which allow a close look at the ground-based fireworks, also are available for a $25 charge.
