HERSHEY, Pa. — The 35th annual Children’s Miracle Network Telethon benefitting Penn State Children’s Hospital will air from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, June 3, on WGAL-TV 8. The telethon will be broadcast from the Children’s Hospital (1st floor, Treehouse Café).

Telethon segments highlighting stories of children who have received life-saving care at the Children’s Hospital will air throughout WGAL’s regular programming from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. The telethon will be featured during WGAL’s News 8 at 6 p.m. followed by a live finale from 7 to 8 p.m. This year, funds will support the purchase of a new pediatric ambulance.

A few of the children who will be featured include:

  • 12-year-old Lilly Isbell, of York Haven, who was born at 29 weeks after her mom was critically injured in a vehicle accident. Lilly suffered a brain bleed and needed heart surgery. Lilly designed this year’s Telethon T-shirt, which will be given to donors who pledge $35 monthly. View a video about Lilly.
  • 3-year-old Joella Migliori, of Lewisberry, who was born with VACTERL association, a disorder that affects several body systems. She was transported to Penn State Children’s Hospital via a pediatric ambulance that was purchased by donors to the 2011 Children’s Miracle Network Telethon. Joella endured 15 surgeries before she was 6 months old. View a video about Joella.
  • 4-year-old Henry Thomas, of Boiling Springs, who needed heart surgery after being diagnosed with coarctation of the aorta. To help plan for surgery, his medical team made an exact replica of his heart using 3D printing. Donations to Children’s Miracle Network have supported the 3D printing program.
