We Are Weekend includes free concert, giveaways, and much more

Fan favorites Bruce in the USA and Velveeta are set to rock Happy Valley during We Are Weekend. Doors and concession stands will open at noon on Saturday, June 1, at Medlar Field. UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — There are plenty of reasons to return to University Park for We Are Weekend, set for May 31 to June 2.

We Are Weekend features events, giveaways, and plenty of chances to find out what’s new at Penn State while enjoying time-honored traditional favorites.

The weekend also features a free concert that's open to the community — with We Are Weekend registration including free Berkey Creamery ice cream, water and reserved seating at the concert.  

Bruce in the USA will headline a concert at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park, with State College fan-favorite Velveeta kicking things off. Doors and concession stands will open at noon on Saturday, June 1, at Medlar Field, with Velveeta playing at 12:30 p.m. Then at 2 p.m., fans can rock out to Bruce in the USA, hailed as “The most powerful and intense Springsteen tribute on the planet.”

Pre-registration for Penn Staters attending only the concert is required and available online. Click here to reserve general admission concert tickets. We Are Weekend registration isn’t required to attend the concert, which is open and free for everyone. 

We Are Weekend highlights: 

  • Concert at Medlar Field, featuring Bruce in the USA and Velveeta
  • Giveaways, including a custom Penn State luggage tag, tote bag, and tailgate blanket
  • Access to discounted Happy Valley Music Festival Tickets (save almost $10)

We Are Weekend registration also includes campus shuttle transportation, Dueling Lions Piano Bar featuring Howl at the Moon musicians, and more. You can view the agenda online, and the Alumni Association will continue to celebrate and recognize the 50th Class (1969) during the Pioneer Induction Dinner, Class of 1969 Dinner and Farewell Breakfast.
