UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The third annual Fore the Blue Band Golf Tournament will be held Saturday, June 22, at the Penn State Golf Courses. Fore the Blue Band raises funds for the Penn State Marching Blue Band’s Legacy Fund.

The Blue Band Legacy Fund was launched on #GivingTuesday 2016 with an initial gift and matching challenge from Blue Band alumni Lori Bowers Uhazie and David Uhazie, both 1982 Penn State graduates. The goal was to secure dependable yet flexible funding to help the band meet its needs, covering costs such as new uniforms, instrument repair, and music fees.

The Blue Band Legacy Fund has already begun to have an impact on the Blue Band, as these funds are being used to replace outdated equipment and are assisting the Blue Band in making technological advances for educational needs. The Legacy Fund enables the students and staff to be confident that the success of the Blue Band is dependent upon their commitment to working hard and nothing else.

The four-player, 18-hole tournament will begin at noon with a shotgun start and will be held rain or shine. Tournament entry fees are $120/golfer or $480/foursome and include greens fees, cart rental, and driving range balls. Play will be followed with a post-tournament dinner, prizes, raffles and games.
