UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The beginning of May is important to Penn State in many ways. It marks the end of classes, features a busy graduation weekend, and welcomes the newest group of Penn Staters, the class of 2023, as they attend New Student Orientation.
It also ushers in plans to recruit the class of 2024. Penn State Undergraduate Admissions offers visit programs to prospective students throughout the summer, with Spend a Summer Day providing the best opportunity to explore Penn State’s academics, student life and campus communities.
To help make Spend a Summer Day and other summer visits at University Park as impactful as possible for prospective students, the Undergraduate Admissions Office is hiring current students to provide campus tours and share their Penn State pride with visitors. Spend a Summer Day at University Park will take place July 22, 25, 26, 29 and 30, allowing prospective students and their guests to explore academic programs; connect with important University resources; interact with current students, advisers and faculty; and take a walking tour of campus. These full-day, open-house events help prepare future classes of Penn Staters to apply to the University, while introducing them to the endless opportunities a Penn State education can provide. As Penn State prepares to welcome prospective students this summer, the University just wrapped up a busy admissions year that saw unprecedented numbers for the class of 2023. Undergraduate Admissions reviewed more than 100,000 applications, hosted hundreds of information sessions, gave tours to thousands of visitors, and continuously communicated with interested students to enroll an outstanding class across Penn State’s 20 undergraduate campuses.
