Former Nittany Lion Blair Thomas to speak at Hazleton Chapter alumni dinner

HAZLETON, Pa. — The public is invited to attend the annual business meeting and dinner of the Hazleton Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association, featuring Blair Thomas, class of 1989, former Penn State Nittany Lions running back. The event will be held Wednesday, June 5, at Sand Springs Country Club.

From 6 to 7 p.m., a meet-and-greet with alumni and friends of Penn State Hazleton will be held. The program begins at 7 p.m. with dinner.

The meal, served buffet-style, includes garden salad, chicken francaise, eggplant parmigiana, penne pasta with vodka sauce, scalloped potatoes, vegetable medley, rolls, desserts, coffee, tea, soda and iced tea. Alternatives are available for those with dietary restrictions, who should note their preferences when making their reservation. The event features a cash bar.

Door prizes and auction items include Penn State clothing and memorabilia and a football autographed by Nittany Lions Football Coach James Franklin.

Cost is $30 for members of the Hazleton Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association and $35 for others. All proceeds go toward the Greater Hazleton Chapter Academic Award at Penn State Hazleton, which benefits local students.
