Penn State Smeal to graduate more than 1,400 this weekend

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Penn State Smeal College of Business will bid farewell to 1,442 graduate and undergraduate students this weekend at spring commencement ceremonies.

Senior Sendoff serves as the official Smeal kickoff to the weekend’s activities. Members of the Class of 2019 and their families are invited to the Business Building Atrium from 2 to 3 p.m. on Saturday. Creamery ice cream will be served and a Smeal College of Business backdrop will be available for pictures.

Smeal’s commencement ceremony will be held at 9 a.m. Sunday in the Bryce Jordan Center. Karen Quintos, a 1985 Smeal graduate in supply chain and information systems, will deliver the commencement address. Quintos is executive vice president and chief customer officer at Dell. Smeal will confer 1,264 degrees.

For those who are unable to attend commencement, Smeal is partnering with Penn State to stream it live. The commencement streaming link can be found online.

Smeal’s integrated Master of Accounting (MAcc) Program will hold its commencement ceremony at 11:45 a.m. on Sunday at the Mount Nittany Club in Beaver Stadium, conferring degrees to 74 students. Light refreshments will be served at 11 a.m.

Finally, three doctoral graduates, 43 Master of Management and Organizational Leadership graduates, and 58 MBA graduates, four of which are Beta Gamma Sigma Honors members, will have degrees presented as part of the Graduate School Commencement at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Bryce Jordan Center.
