Liberal Arts Teaching Group to hold final meeting of semester on April 25

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Liberal Arts Teaching Group will hold its last lunch meeting of the spring semester beginning at 12:05 p.m. on Thursday, April 25, in Café’ Laura.

The Liberal Arts Teaching Group meets monthly each semester to discuss and promote the adoption of evidence-based teaching practices by liberal arts faculty. Any faculty members teaching courses in the Penn State College of the Liberal Arts are welcome to attend. Lunch will be provided for those who register in advance; to do so, email Bill Goffe, associate teaching professor of economics, at bill.goffe@psu.edu.

April’s meeting will give attendees a chance to reflect on their teaching experiences during the spring semester and discuss ideas they might like to try in their courses in the future. As a starting point for the discussion, the group will take a look at Yale’s short guide on reflective teaching.

Faculty interested in learning more about the group and/or being added to the group’s email list should contact Goffe or Josh Wede, associate teaching professor of psychology, at jwede@psu.edu.
