Users can now reset Penn State access account passwords by text and email

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Members of the Penn State community can now immediately reset their access account information and recover lost or forgotten passwords on their own via text and email. Previously, passwords could only be retrieved and changed by contacting the IT Service Desk.

This expanded capability is part of Penn State IT’s initiative to streamline processes, better integrate systems, and provide a better user experience for the Penn State community. Previously, all forgotten password requests would need to be manually facilitated by Service Desk staff members who would receive up to 3,000 requests per week.

Users are encouraged to take advantage of this new feature to change passwords or make other changes to their access accounts rather than contact the IT Service Desk. To recover your password, visit accounts.psu.edu, click forgot password and follow the prompts.
