Donated items still welcome for April 26 benefit auction

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — The Student Government Association at Pennsylvania College of Technology will host its annual Silent Auction on Friday, April 26, to benefit the Student Leader Legacy Scholarship Fund.

The auction will be held from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. on the first floor of Madigan Library. All proceeds from the event — which is open to the public — go directly toward the fund, which awards at least two scholarships annually to students who play leadership roles at the college.

“We are super excited by the donations we have received so far, from a brand-new kayak to a variety of handmade items, and we look forward to another successful silent auction!” said Alexandra “Ali” Petrizzi, of Langhorne, a graphic design major and SGA’s vice president of public relations.

Items will be accepted up to the sale date; more information is available by emailing sga@pct.edu.

Donations so far include handiwork by local artisans, as well as gift cards for goods and services. Recognizing the myriad talents represented by members of the campus community, SGA has made a particular push for items that represent the donors’ curricular or career specialties.

Individuals also may support the event by attending or by donating to the Student Leader Legacy Scholarship Fund at www.pct.edu/give or by calling the Institutional Advancement Office at 570-320-8020.

Scholarship recipients are required to be enrolled full time with at least one academic year remaining, and to carry a GPA of at least 3.0. The fund is already fully endowed, but the annual auction and other targeted fundraisers have increased both the amount and the number of awards.
