March 29, 2019

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Penn State student chapter of the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers will hold its annual lawnmower clinic on Friday, April 5, and Saturday, April 6, at the Agricultural Engineering Building at University Park.

The purpose of the clinic is to prepare push-type lawnmowers for the upcoming mowing season, while helping the students earn money for club functions. Please note that the clinic is not intended to be conducted as a repair shop.

Maintenance procedures to be performed include:

  • Start (before servicing)
  • Clean under deck
  • Sharpen and balance blade
  • Secure blade
  • Clean air filter
  • Check/clean/gap spark plug
  • Change oil
  • Wash
  • Start (after servicing)

All mowers must be dropped off at the Agricultural Engineering Building, as this year the club will not be picking up and dropping off mowers at participants’ homes. Drop off will be located in the parking lot between the Agricultural Engineering Building and Borland Building off of Shortlidge Road.

The cost is $35 per mower, and participants can pay by cash or check.

Those interested in participating in the clinic can register and see available drop-off times by filling out an online form.
