STARTALK Arabic Academy now accepting applications

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The STARTALK Arabic Academy, set for June 17 to July 12 on Penn State's University Park campus, is currently accepting applications from highly motivated college and high school students who wish to gain introductory knowledge of the Arabic language and its people.

As part of the STARTALK Academy, students enroll in four weeks of intensive language study at the Language Institute at Penn State. Upon successful completion of the program, students will earn academic credit for one full semester of college-level Arabic (four credits of Penn State's ARABIC 001). In addition, they will participate in twice-weekly afternoon immersion activities providing exposure to the language, customs and culture of the Arabic peoples. Every student receives a scholarship covering up to 90 percent of their in-state tuition or an equivalent dollar amount to their out-of-state tuition.
