UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — A conference celebrating the relevance and advancement of current and aspiring women in leadership, "Empowering Women in Leadership," will be held April 9-10 at the Penn Stater Conference Center and Hotel, 215 Innovation Blvd., State College.

Organized by Training and Development Network LLC in State College, and sponsored in part by Penn State's Office of Educational Equity and the State College Borough, the event is an opportunity to share knowledge, enhance skills, and create long-lasting relationships with like-minded women.

This is a ticketed event and requires registration to attend. The two-day lineup includes the following sample of facilitators and workshops:

Keynote: "Creating Agency and Navigating Change"

Resilient, progressive, and strategic change management skills can be taught, sharpened and exercised to equip you to manage the change that comes your way.

Speaker Ebony Smith gained her corporate experience while working 18 years in the energy industry trading financial derivatives. Now as an executive coach, Smith works with her clients to clarify and align their personal motivators with the corporate objectives.

"Creating and Nurturing Your Trifecta Tribe: Mentors, Peers and Mentees"

Now more than ever, it is imperative for success that women professionals are adept at creating and nurturing both online and offline relationships.

Speaker Michelle Y. Talbert has been featured in Forbes, EBONY, the Washington Post and USA Today. She is a graduate of Cornell University and the University of Pennsylvania School of Law. Talbert's connections and vast business network have created massive opportunities, ranging from an invitation to the White House from the Obama Administration to speaking on stages across the country.

"Embracing the Difference"

The time is here to shift that mindset. We are strong leaders and this is not about a battle between the sexes, but about breaking the stereotypes and really bringing out the leaders in us without compromising our essence.

Speaker Tahira Bharmal is a Canadian, born in Kenya with South Asian heritage. A success coach with her own practice, Authentic Factor, Bharmal works with men and women from culturally diverse backgrounds to overcome their fears and limiting beliefs.

"An Ambitious Woman’s Guide to Successful Salary Negotiation"

Stop leaving money on the table and confidently reclaim the value of the time and significance you bring to an employer.

Speaker Sabrina Jones is a financial manager, a published author and public speaker who inspires individuals to embrace decision-making tools and strategies to achieve financial balance through salary negotiation, credit awareness, budgeting and generating passive income.

The conference also will host an event-sponsored networking cocktail hour, a breakfast for women interested in learning more about local government, and an affinity dinner for women of color. For the full agenda, speakers, and workshops, visit www.eventleaf.com/wil2019.
