Webinar to cover how money impacts relationships

March 20, 2019

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — It’s easy to see how money is a major influencer on personal relationships. Individuals come into relationships with different spending habits, built from their different upbringings and altered by their life and career experiences.

The Sokolov-Miller Family Financial and Life Skills Center will hold a no-cost, March 26 webinar covering how money plays into relationships, and how people can talk openly and productively about their approaches to shared finances.

Participants can use this Zoom link at noon on March 26 to learn about how to identify their personal relationship with money and discuss money matters honestly and openly, about “deal makers and deal breakers” in relationships, money secrets and financial infidelity, and tips to preserve money and relationships.

Additionally, self-study modules are available here from “MoneyCounts: A Penn State Financial Literacy Series.”

The next webinar on April 9 will cover mortgages. A full schedule of events from the Sokolov-Miller Family Center can be found here.

The Sokolov-Miller Family Financial and Life Skills Center offers services to the entire Penn State community and is part of Penn State Undergraduate Education, the academic administrative unit that provides leadership and coordination for University-wide programs and initiatives in support of undergraduate teaching and learning at Penn State.
