The Penn State Pan-African Professional Alliance (PAN-APA) will host its 3rd Annual Conference on April 5-6 in the HUB-Robeson Center at University Park.
The title of this year’s conference is “African Youth Arise: Disruptive Paradigms for the Young Continent.” The keynote speaker for this year’s conference is Ruth Evon Idahosa, a Nigerian American activist and founder and executive director of Pathfinders Justice Initiative, Inc.
Students interested in presenting at the conference are asked to submit a proposal of up to 500 words of their work by March 22. Students from all disciplines and at all levels are encouraged to present their work. Proposals could reflect an individual research project, term paper, thesis or dissertation work. The submission can be from any stage of your work.
Proposals are due by March 22 at 11:59 p.m., and can be submitted online. Decision letters will be sent out before the end of March, 2019. For full consideration, presenters of accepted proposals must register to attend the PAN-APA 2019 conference.
Registration and attendance at the conference is free. Benefits for students participating will include mentoring breakfast with Africana faculty, online publication of conference proceedings, and opportunities for networking, social events and strategic alliances. Participants are encouraged to wear traditional African outfits.
