'Online Advising' roundtable set for March 21

The College of Education Technology Committee is organizing a monthly Technology Roundtable series on various topics including teaching, advising, research, project management and work productivity. The first roundtable will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, March 21, in 228 Chambers Building and will focus on online advising. Katie Hoffman, associate professor of education (special education), and Laura Bray, assistant professor of education (special education), will serve as presenters. The discussion is open to faculty, staff and students, and also will be accessible via Zoom (https://psu.zoom.us/j/422095824).

Humphrey poster session scheduled for April 1

The Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program will host its annual capstone project poster session from noon to 1:30 p.m. Monday, April 1, in 102 Chambers Building. This year, 11 fellows will share information on the projects they plan to implement when they return to their home workplaces and communities.

Libraries offers $1,250 award for outstanding undergraduate thesis

Penn State University Libraries is accepting submissions for the eighth annual Outstanding Undergraduate Thesis Award. The competition aims to find the best research by a Penn State undergraduate in consultation with his or her adviser. The winner will receive $1,250, and awards of $750 and $500 will be presented to the second- and third-place recipients, respectively. For additional information regarding eligibility requirements and deadlines, visit http://bit.ly/2T2kWpF.

Nominations sought for outstanding postdocs, mentors

The Penn State Postdoctoral Society is accepting nominations for the fifth annual Penn State Outstanding Post Doc and Postdoctoral Mentor Awards. The Postdoctoral Mentor Award recognizes an outstanding faculty member who has demonstrated a commitment to exceptional mentoring of postdoctoral scholars at Penn State. The Penn State Outstanding Post Doc Award recognizes a postdoctoral scholar for overall achievement at Penn State. Nominations must be submitted by May 17. For more information, visit this link.
