HAZLETON, Pa. — The Greater Hazleton Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association and Penn State Hazleton THON recently sponsored an American Red Cross blood drive at Penn State Hazleton to benefit Penn State Hazleton THON.

In addition to serving as donor escorts and snack table staff, alumni chapter members presented a check to the Red Cross to provide snacks for the event.

For each presenting donor at the blood drive, Penn State Hazleton THON received a $4 donation to the Four Diamonds Fund at Penn State Children’s Hospital.

The Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon, or THON for short, is the world’s largest student-run philanthropy, raising money for the families of pediatric cancer patients at Penn State Children’s Hospital. THON weekend was held Feb. 15 to 17 at the Bryce Jordan Center at University Park and raised more than $10.6 million.
