WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Pennsylvania College of Technology President Davie Jane Gilmour has been appointed to the NCAA Division III Chancellors/Presidents Advisory Group.
Gilmour will serve alongside other presidents and chancellors from Division III conferences across the U.S. who advise the Division III Presidents Council, the highest governing body in the division.

According to the NCAA website, “The (Presidents) Council establishes and directs the general policy of the Division, while also establishing Division III's strategic plan. It can make recommendations to the Board of Governors on matters related to Division III, such as championships, and may approve how the Division spends its money.”
Gilmour’s two-year term begins immediately and will continue through the close of the January 2021 NCAA Convention.
Gilmour is also completing a two-year term as vice chair of President’s Council for the North Eastern Athletic Conference (Penn College is an NEAC member) and will assume the role of council chair in July. Previously, she served a five-year term as chair of the Little League International Board of Directors, and she continues to serve on the board.

They never lose sight of the fact that academic success is their primary focus.”
“We are excited that Dr. Davie Jane Gilmour has been accepted to serve the NEAC membership and represent the conference on the NCAA Division III Presidents Advisory Group,” said NEAC Commissioner Candice Poiss Murray. “We know that she will represent the NEAC well and will bring important information back to the conference. We are also thankful to the service and commitment of Dr. Helen Streubert, president of the College of St. Elizabeth, who previously served the NEAC in this role.”
Penn College student-athletes also welcomed Gilmour’s appointment to the advisory position.
“Dr. Gilmour will be a great member of the NCAA Division III Chancellors/Presidents Advisory Group, as she exemplifies leadership and passion in her role at Penn College,” said Devon M. Sanders, of Bloomsburg, a Penn College baseball team member and vice president of the Student-Athlete Advisory Council at the college. “It is very rewarding being a student-athlete at Penn College and knowing Dr. Gilmour will put our campus on another level.”
“This is an outstanding achievement for Dr. Gilmour and for Penn College as a whole,” said Taylor C. Gonzales, of Lancaster, a member of the Penn College women’s soccer team and treasurer of the Student-Athlete Advisory Council. “It’s very rewarding to see the college’s hard work paying off in so many aspects.”
More than 190,000 student-athletes at 450 institutions comprise Division III, the largest NCAA division in terms of the number of participants and schools.
