Erica Frankenberg, associate professor of education (educational leadership) and demography, on March 13 will participate in a virtual town hall with the editor of Phi Delta Kappan to discuss their latest issue about school segregation. On March 29, she will serve as the keynote speaker at the University of Alabama Law School's Brown v. Board of Education symposium.

David Gamson, associate professor of education (education theory and policy), wrote "Standards, instructional objectives, and curriculum design: A complex relationship," published by Phi Delta Kappan. His co-authors were doctoral student Jeremy Anderson and Sarah Anne Eckert, an alumna of the education theory and policy program.

— William Hartman, professor emeritus of education (education policy studies), was quoted in "Gov. Wolf proposed more money for public schools, but districts say math just doesn't add up," published by Philly.com.

Paul Morgan, professor of education (education theory and policy), is one of 10 experts across the country invited to serve on the Technical Review Panel for the new Early Childhood Longitudinal Study, Kindergarten Class of 2022-23. As a panelist, Morgan will advise the U.S. Department of Education's National Center on Education Statistics on survey content for the nationally representative database.

— "Benchmarks for the Pennsylvania Plastics Industry," a paper co-authored by David Passmore, distinguished professor of education (workforce education and development), is one of the top 10 papers downloaded from the Structural Materials eJournal.

Rebecca Tarlau, assistant professor of education (adult education) and labor and employment relations, wrote "What's behind the teacher strikes: Unions focus on social justice, not just salaries," which was published by The Conversation and several other media outlets.
