UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State Vice President for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer Michael Kubit announced Feb. 25 that Dave Gindhart will serve as associate CIO for administration for Penn State IT, effective immediately.
Gindhart will help lead administrative IT units through the Reimagining IT (RIT) initiative, which will align resources with the University’s mission and strategic plan, optimize investments in technology and services, and create capacity to support innovation. Two units — Finance and Business IT, and Enterprise IT — will be at the forefront of moving to the new Penn State IT organization on July 1.
“Dave has been an integral part of Reimagining IT since the beginning," Kubit said. "We are excited that he is bringing his experience and insight to our organization as the first new hire for the expanding Penn State IT senior leadership team."
Gindhart most recently served as senior director for information technology for Penn State Finance and Business. He came to Penn State in 2008 as director of research information systems within the Office of the Vice President for Research. He previously served 14 years in the U.S. Air Force, where he held a variety of assignments in IT, software and program management. He received his master of science in computer engineering from the Air Force Institute of Technology and a bachelor of science in computer engineering from Penn State.
