UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Proposals are now being accepted from Penn State faculty University-wide for the 18th annual Division of Undergraduate Studies Conference, this year scheduled for Sept. 26 at the Penn Stater Hotel and Conference Center.
Presentation formats include lecture and discussion, as well as panels and workshops, with proposals due no later than May 15. A submission form is available at dus.psu.edu/2019-dus-conference. Inquiries regarding the proposal process can be directed to Courtney Karmelita at cec5032@psu.edu.
The conference will feature a myriad of conversations and thought-provoking presentations, led by experts who will guide participants to examine innovative scholarship and practices that contribute to the field of academic advising.
The DUS Conference is hosted by Penn State’s Division of Undergraduate Studies with sponsorship from the University Faculty Senate, Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost, Office of Undergraduate Education, and “The Mentor: Innovative Scholarship on Academic Advising,” a peer-reviewed, electronic, open-access journal devoted to introducing new and unsettling existing ideas relevant to academic advising in higher education.
The Division of Undergraduate Studies, a unit within Penn State Undergraduate Education, is Penn State’s largest unit of enrollment for first-year students. It leads the development of advising policies and practices, manages the University-wide academic information network and provides general academic advising for current and prospective Penn State students.
