Parking deck roofs closed Wednesday, Midnight Clear declared for Wednesday night

Parking deck roof levels closed Wednesday

Due to snowfall and freezing rain expected on Wednesday, the roof levels of all four campus parking decks (East, Eisenhower, HUB, Nittany) will be closed beginning at midnight tonight (Tuesday).

All vehicles (including Penn State-owned vehicles) must be removed from these areas before midnight tonight and remain away until further notice. All other levels of each deck will remain available.

As a result of the roof level closures, please note the following parking changes in place between 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Wednesday:

-    Each of the four campus decks will be reserved for assigned permit holders only, with no hourly parking available.

-    Faculty and staff with permits for other campus parking areas should remain parked in their assigned areas and use the no-fare Campus Shuttle or CATA Loop/Link system to travel around campus.

-    Visitors to campus should be directed to utilize pay station parking at Jordan East and Stadium West and to use the no-fare Campus Shuttle or CATA Loop/Link system to travel around campus.

Real-time Campus Shuttle and CATABUS locations can be found by downloading the TransLoc Rider mobile app or by visiting psu.transloc.com.

ADA parking for visitors and faculty, staff and students with core-of-campus permit access will remain available at each of the decks on Wednesday. Departmental floater permits will also be honored at each of the decks, if space is available.

If any of the decks reach capacity on Wednesday, overflow parking will be available for Green B, Yellow C, Yellow D, and Yellow F permit holders at all Orange and Commuter lots. Green B permit holders may also park at all sections of Lot Red A if Green B areas reach capacity on Wednesday.

An update will be shared when the roof levels have reopened.

"Midnight Clear" declared for Wednesday night

The Office of Physical Plant has also declared a "Midnight Clear" for snow removal from midnight Wednesday night through 7 a.m. Thursday morning.

During these times, parking will be prohibited at all faculty/staff surface parking lots on campus, including Innovation Park, from midnight through 7 a.m. This restriction includes University vehicles and applies to all employee work shifts, regardless of reporting time.

Resident core and long-term storage student parking lots (Blue 22, Blue 42, Blue 81, Blue 82, Blue 83, Brown 11, and Purple 43) are exempt from "Midnight Clear" restrictions and will remain available for student vehicles displaying a valid permit for these areas.
